A genuine piece of mid-century British hotel-ware dating to 1964, produced by Dunn Bennett & Co. Ltd. of Burslem, Staffordshire for Trust Houses Ltd. Crafted from durable vitreous ironstone, this elegant jug features a classic ivory-white glaze, a simple brown line border, and the distinctive Trust House stag logo. Originally designed for commercial hospitality use, these pieces are highly regarded for their durability, timeless styling, and connection to British hotel history. Perfect for use as a water jug, milk pitcher, rustic farmhouse vase, or display piece in a country kitchen, pub, or hospitality collection. The base is fully marked: “Vitreous Ironstone – Dunn Bennett & Co Ltd – Burslem – Made in England – Property of Trust Houses Ltd”. The numbers "3-64" impressed into the ceramic body serve as a production date code. British commercial pottery manufacturers frequently utilised a month-and-year system for inventory and tracking purposes. * 3 represents the month (March). * 64 represents the year (1964). A wonderful piece of authentic British hotel-ware with excellent decorative and practical appeal. Approx Dimensions: * Diameter base: ~ 9.5cm / Diameter opening: ~ 7.5cm * Width including handle and spout: ~ 12.5cm * Height: ~ 13cm In good vintage condition overall. No chips or repairs noted. A small hairline crack is present on the interior surface only, extending from the inner wall towards the base (shown in photographs). The crack is not visible on the exterior, does not leak, and the jug remains structurally sound and fully usable. Minor age-related wear and manufacturing imperfections consistent with commercial hotel use. Displays beautifully and functions as intended.
